Senior Division BOYS Suffield upsets Simsbury. In a demonstration of offensive force Suffield orchestrated a 12 to 5 defeat over a tough and seasoned Simsbury team. Scoring for Suffield was Matt Conway 2, Ben Brown 3, Brian Lareau 2, Casey Christian 2, and Niko Connor, Chris Ewald, and Brian Depray each had 1. The entire defense contributed with Zac Donais, Mike Cooper and John Calderon holding off a Simsbury attack with Suffield 2 men down. Zeke Donnelly held an experienced Simsbury offense to only 5 goals. GIRLS Suffield vs Northhampton 5-9-02: Suffield Senior girls lacrosse team WON their first game of the season beating Northhampton in a cardiac squeaker 9-8. Betsy the "stopper"did a good job in the net. Good crisp passing from Sara, Crystal,Stephanie. Danielle Moores,Kristen,Katie,Alexandra and Diana provided rock solid defense. Offensive power provided by Morgan,Kathryn scores by Alyssa,Danielle Mon,Lauren and Alicia.The Northhampton team was very good with an excellent goalie. Our next game is Monday at home (McAlister field)against Agawam. See you there. |

Junior Division BOYS GIRLS Girl's Junior team (5th & 6th grade) won their first game Friday against Somers 8-2. With the field conditions, you could call it "mudbowl 2002". Karlene Sullivan said we looked like the Bad News Bears with our muddy pinneys vs. the nice uniforms the Somers Team had. But talent and effort won the day. |
